| Initial
Consultation
There
is no charge for an initial meeting. You will meet with Skeeter Coleman
to discuss your project, your ideas, your budget and time expectations.
During our meeting we will not only discuss what you want to accomplish,
but also your concerns and fears regarding your project in order
to keep those from happening. If there is match, then based on your
budget, a Design Agreement for professional services is signed that
covers the creation of the drawings for your project.
Design
Phase
Designs
Created...Photos and measurements of the space will be taken
and three designs are developed based on your initial consultation.
Design
Review I - During the first design meeting, we review with you
the three conceptual sketches, and distill them down to a single
concept.
Design Review II - The second review meeting is to confirm
your decisions made during the prior meeting. Your distilled concept
and initial budget are reviewed at this meeting.
Design Review III - Next detailed drawings, scope of work,
final price, and payment schedule tied to the construction process
are presented for your approval.
Pre-construction
Conference
Project
team is assigned... In a pre-construction conference between you,
Skeeter Coleman, and your project manager, the scope of the project
is reviewed line by line so that there is a clear understanding
by all of what the project entails. We are invited guests working
in your home, and we will behave as such. We will abide by your
preferences with regards to your family, pets, parking, schedules,
security codes, keys (and who will have them), numbers to call in
case of emergency, placement of dumpsters, etc.
Production/Construction
The
realization of your design is begun...Your on-site project manager
will work with tradesmen and crews to ensure that work is completed
to specification, time, and budget. Typically, our project managers
handle 1-3 projects concurrently and are full-time employees of
Coleman Construction. They are compensated according to a client
satisfaction survey we request when the project is complete, so
rest assured they are truly committed to meeting your needs.
Weekly progress meetings...Your project manager will schedule a
weekly meeting at a set time with you to discuss the status of the
job and expectations for the following week. Each project has two
job notebooks, one for you, the client, and one for us. We keep
copies of the notes from each weekly meeting, appliance warranties,
trades contact information, etc., in these notebooks so that both
parties have complete documentation.
New
Job Walk Through
Within
two weeks of your job completion date, a scheduled job walk through
takes place with you and your production manager.
The purpose of this walk through is to compile a quality control
list. You sign off on each quality control item until all items
are addressed.
Job
Completion Ceremony
On the
last day of the job, we will walk through the finished site with
you, ensuring that you are happy with the work. This is typically
a celebratory time for all.
Post-construction
Evaluation and Warranty
Two
weeks after construction is complete, we will hold a Post-construction
Evaluation with you. This allows you time to live with our work
and come to conclusions about the craftsmanship and the working
relationship. The evaluation consists of an interview at your home
with Skeeter Coleman where you grade the project manager, the trades,
and the company's performance in general.
Your continued
satisfaction is important to us. If anything goes wrong after completion,
we want our clients to call us and we will fix the problem under
our warranty. We treat warranty work as a marketing expense.
